Meet the Model: Naomi

Where do you spend most of your time on Cape? Which town is your favorite?

My favorite town is Brewster. Not only is it where I grew up  but it also has my favorite ponds and bike paths. Not to mention it's where the Snowy Owl is (best coffee place on Cape) so that's where you'll find me on my days off !

What is your passion/What are your passions?

My passion is definitely spending as much time as I can outside, which is why summer is the ideal season for me. I also love all things health and fitness related, with exercise science being my college major, learning about kinesiology and the science behind nutrition and movement is truly alluring.

What’s your favorite Cape Cod activity?

My favorite Cape Cod activity is fishing/kayaking. I love getting an early start to the day and packing up the kayaks, fishing poles and some snacks and spending the day on the lake. Its like a little slice of heaven to me.

Where is your favorite Cape Cod spot? Why?

My favorite Cape Cod spot is Greenland pond in Brewster. It's  not the nicest pond, it's not the biggest or most captivating,  but I basically grew up on it spending summers at my best friends cabin right on it. I have so many memories there that It's become more of a time capsule that I keep opening up to reminisce on  every time I'm there.

Anything you’d like to draw attention to that’s important to you?

Social Media is such a great platform to promote things and be used as a voice, yet for others it can be a malign idol in the everyday life. What I struggle with is the constant scrolling through feeds and feeds of people's lives almost everyday. Until 6 hours later I realize that I have wasted so much time of my own life reading about other people that I don't know, I subsequently let the day slip by. I know phones can be addicting, but I think in a world of swiping, scrolling, texting, snapping should be replaced with a world full of laughing, talking, focusing and doing. Creating the fruitful lives that we are meant to have instead of envying the peoples' lives on the screen that we THINK they have. Human connections are one of the single most important gifts we have, let's invest more time into it, because in the end that's what will truly be fulfilling.
